Root`s Cafe in Salt Lake City

Can never go wrong with their smoked salmon eggs Benedict. We really enjoy coming here and the wait is never terrible. One of our go to breakfast places! Good vegan and veggie options as well.

Another amazing brunch at Roots! They never fail to impress me with the quality of their food and the care that they clearly put into their preparation. We had a wonderful meal in the winter yurt outside. It was warm and comfortable and quiet. It made for a fantastic brunch date with my hubby. This time I tried the delightful breakfast burrito with sausage and avocado. The burrito was stuffed with so many yummy things and the salsa for the top was delicious. I actually devoured the entire thing. My husband enjoyed the Biscuits and Gravy this time which was also very good. We always enjoy a good meal at Roots!

Very tasty little cafe with plenty of options. The location is very quaint as well and makes for a great relaxing breakfast or brunch.

My mom took me here because it’s her new favorite and I can see why. There was a standard 20 min wait and it was well worth the wait! I modified my omelet since I am allergic to eggs and our waitress, Tori, Was quite accommodating. We all got the gluten free, lemon, ginger and walnut muffin which was amazing. The Mediterranean omelet was also a huge hit. My bro said the Southern Omelet was amazing but had a kick with the habanero peppers. Add Roots Cafe to your favorite restaurant, too. I have never seen a restaurant with so many 5 star reviews, but this place fits the bill.

Straight fire. Pancakes are real good. Gets busy. But that’s expected when you have good food.

The food and service is great. Especially your pancakes. My only complaint is watching your host making smoothies and touching the ingredients with her bare hands. Please wear gloves when adding greens into a smoothie.

The breakfast here was so delicious. We got here pretty early, so didn't have to wait to be seated. Had some fresh juice and coffee. My wife had the poblano biscuit and gravy which was about as close to Heaven as you can get. The eggs benedict was also excellent

I've driven past this place many times. Stopped in today for lunch and really enjoyed it. Great food!

I was so happy that my friend took me here. I have since taken many of my friends and family, all of them very happy with their food.This place is always busy. They don't take reservations, but any wait time it totally worth it.The food is fresh and prepared as you order. There is not one thing that I have tried that hasn't be amazing. My favorites are the Dirt Burger and the Shepherd's pie (seasonal). There is a great selection for vegetarians too.All of the servers are super nice and fill your coffee cups and water as you need it.Wendy the owner is always there and it is such a pleasure to talk to her and to support a family owned business.The patio in the summer is nice and the yurt in the winter is super cozy.While you wait, take a trip around the Old Flamingo next door. They will even come in there and call your name when your table is ready for you.

A decent place for breakfast. Menu is selective so make sure you check it before going in. Food was good. Staff was friendly. They do not accept American Express and wish I knew that before walking in. The inside is very noisy but the yurt is quiet and relaxing. If you want to have a conversation sit in the yurt. All in all is was a good experience.

This is my favorite places to get breakfast/brunch. The biscuits and gravy is to die for! if you stop by in the summer time you have to try the parfait, it seriously comes in a chalice and they do not skimp you on berries or granola. If you come on the weekends you will definitely have to wait for a table because it’s so small. However the Old Flamingo store attached to it is really fun to browse while you wait.

Great food, good staff but if you eat anywhere other than the Yurt it's so ugly and bland. Menu and employees have so much character but the building is so so so boring. Really hope they get the feel they used to have. Also heads up on parking it can be a nightmare.

First of all be prepared for a slight wait to be seated on a weekend, I believe that it comes with the territory of a great restaurant. You can browse the cute antique shop down the hall while you wait. Once you’re seated you are served super quickly. I’m an adventurous brunch eater religiously, I’m always excited to try new places. And I have to be blown away to keep coming back a lot. Let’s just say I eat here often. Compared to any other cafe, Root’s food stands out from the rest! This restaurant does breakfast RIGHT! I recommend their Biscuits and gravy. ROOTS! You have something very special here and your dining space is a little on the smaller side. As a small business owner myself I truly believe if you had other locations or a larger dining space you would absolutely kill it. Think about it. I will keep looking forward to dining in your establishment.

Very friendly service. Great little local cafe. The food was really good and fresh. The raspberry jam is fantastic on an English muffin.

DON'T GO THERE..... I want this place all to myself!It's amazingly awesome and wonderful.

By far the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Great food, moderately priced, and service was excellent. Parking was very tight but sufficient. I will go back for sure.

Stopped in from Boise. Great breakfast/brunch place! The Eggs Benedict was very yummy--I'm very picky about my hollandaise and Roots definitely delivered some awesome sauce. Friend had a chicken grilled cheese with kale chips that was really delicious. Definitely would recommend stopping in if you're looking for a good breakfast spot.

Great place to have breakfast with Vegetarians, GF and non. Not over salted, very tasty.

The first time we came here on a Saturday morning and didn't expect the wait time to be 30 minutes. So we left without being able to taste the food. But the aroma and presentation of the food from the tables had made our mouths watered. We came back the following day and had the right expectation of waiting time. The service was good. Definitely ask to sit outside on a nice day. My favorite is the Egg Benni with smoked salmon and arugula. Their pancake has a really nice texture and tastes good. The price is reasonable too! Will definitely come back.

The bacon here is amazing. Whether you get the applewood or cottage you can't go wrong. I got the Eggs Benni and it was great. They put the eggs on an English muffin with hollandaise and bacon and it was the tastiest thing I've had this week for sure.

I love Roots!! They have amazing food and their staff is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and fun to have a conversation with. There is a little antique shop next to it to browse while you wait to be seated. The only way it could get any better is if I had an option for mimosas when I come to brunch. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one day they will.

I'd definitely come back! Everything on the menu looked amazing. I have the biscuits and gravy and would highly recommend, one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately I wasn't the biggest fan of the Chai but the food was top notch.

The food at Roots wowed me today! I tried the Huevos Rancheros and the pancake of the day. It was really hard to make a decision, because everything sounded so good! They also have a great juice bar and kombucha on tap. My friend that was with me is a vegetarian and they had great options for her too. I would definitely recommend it.

The food is tasty. Original flavor combinations that are not outlandish grace the menu. I love their new takes on comfort food favorites.

Wonderful spot tucked away in millcreek. Great atmosphere, eclectic, and fantastic food.We waited 45 minutes on Sunday at around 11:30A.M. which is a bit of a wait but knowing the area and the timing, it was not excessive. There is also a vintage secondhand shop in the same building. We spent some time perusing and our friend purchased a dresser while waiting.Recommend!

Could be the first dine in experience since the lockdown or could be that this is truly amazing, either way, I'll be back again and again.

Love their breakfast and their place to hang out with my wife and 2-yr old daughter. But you gotta come early though (before 9a/9.30a). If you come late, expect to wait in the line for a while.

Lovely atmosphere adjacent to the Old Flamingo. Tasty breakfast menu has several options to cater to different palates and diets. It's uncommon to see cottage bacon as a protein option, and I was delighted to sub it into my sandwich! Staff is friendly and welcoming, super attentive to their tables. I'll be back again :)

Forgot to get pictures, that's how good the food was. The porto was spicy and flavorful, the staff quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxing. I ate my lunch in the yurt connected to the main dining area (which was pretty cool in of itself). I'll definitely be back!

I would love to come back earlier in the morning when its not so busy. 45 min wait at 10am on a Sunday. The vegetarian sandwich was amazing. Crepes and french toast were pretty good. Service was about as expected for a really busy day. Good selection and Ill probably come back

Absolutely amazing food. No matter what dish you get to will be amazing. I had the pulled pork sandwich and couldn't get enough of it. My friend had the Turkey BLT? I think it was called and yet again it was absolutely amazing. They do close at 3 which sucks for me since I can't always make it there in time. But its definitely a place to go to at least once. I've heard the line gets super long and right out the door. The good news with that is, they offer take out.

Very good food. My biscuits and gravy were under seasoned, sadly, but the sausage was out of this world. The potatoes were good, but cut in too big of chunks. I want to go back and try other things on the menu. Hopefully they get even better.

Wow, this place was way better than anticipated. Their pancake of the day was really good and their veggie piccata, amazing! Friendly service, too! Definitely give it a try if you haven't yet.

This is my new go-to for brunch. Great food, generous portions and super reasonable prices. I sat in the yurt and it was peaceful and quiet and not at all chilly despite the weather.

Excellent food ..from 7 AM - 3 PM every day! I like the "Roots of the day" breakfast that comes with creative "Pancake of the day" and home fries . 2 Eggs & Bacon or veggie sausage, which they prefer ....to call "protein". For lunch their blue bacon burger is good with a side salad with the perfect lite dressing. Good remodel, congratulations!!!
